So, it's supposed to be a Texas boat...manufactured in San Antonio, of all places, by a company called Charter Marine...it says 1978 on my title, a 23 foot fiberglass sloop. It might be better to say twin keels 'cause they ain't nowhere close to the turn of the bilge on this flat bottomed beast. They stick straight down too, very little angle away from the centerline of the boat. I sure wish whoever designed the thing had put the compression post UNDER the tabernacle instead of ahead and to the side. Its a pop top, got a 5 by 5 foot camper style section of the cabin roof that raises up about 2 feet. I can't see that there was ever anything but gravity holdin' the front of this pop up section down, and the whole thing could lift straight up and fly away! No seal under it or the front hatch... and no sign there ever were seals of any kind in either place. Anyhow I thought perhaps one of the Texas hands that must surely be attracted to this site might know something about the company or this odd boat. I have found zero information on the net. The previous owner has little idea of displacement, draft etc.
Thanks, Dave Snyder
