My husband and I are moving to Canyon Lake, we are wondering how the sailing is on the lake and are going to be purchasing a boat once we have relocated. Thanks in advance!

Depending on what type of sailing you are interested in. Trailer sailing or slip sailing a cabin boat. Your best bet is to contact a dealer. Give Chuck a call at the Sailboat Shop in Austin (512) 454 7171

Sailing is good on Canyon Lake. It's fairly deep until you go upstream, the water is usually pretty clean, and there is usually wind. The Lake Canyon Yacht Club is very active and has a very nice place (and the members often have a few boats for sale), and there is another sailing club at a marina on the north shore. There are several Corps of Engineer parks around the lake with good boatramps. Just north of the dam near shore is a scuba diving area so that's a good place to avoid, I'd hate to run into a diver.
