Just wondering if anyone here has sailed from Galveston to Belize. Would like to make the trip someday.Any info or advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Dave

Have made it several times. Go after hurricane season and after a norther for a big boost. Stay as close as possible to the Mexican coast to avoid the Yucatan Channel current. Isla Mujeres is a good first stop. See Contoy, Cozumel, and Chinchorro. Shallow draft is best for Belize. Caulker, Ambergris, the list is endless. Good fishing, diving, and boat drinks. I'm going again as soon as I can get my boat refit. Not as good as it was in 1976, but still a great trip.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like a good trip. I have friends that fly down about every febuary ( nothing goes to weather like a 747)so I'd probably plan the trip around that time of year, good time to catch a norther. Thanks again. Dave
