I just acquired a 1968 Coronado 15 - got it for a real bargain, but it needs some work - most of the teak is missing, and the mast has a serious bend in it about 1/4 up (kinked). It appears the 1968 is the first year the C15 was made. The plate at the stern says "Wesco Marine Boat #55". Can anyone help in placing a value on this boat? I see 1970s models go for $400-$1000 generally, but I wonder if a "first edition" has more value?
Also - is there a place to go to find technical specs for the boat so I can refurbish her properly?
Many thanks, Oklahoma Sailor

A "first edition" usually has no extra value. The first year model of any boat can have defects that were shortly fixed and didn't exist in later years. A little like buying a new car model when it first comes out. The value of older sailboats is based almost entirely on their condition, not the year.
See your sailboat dealer for more info, they are usually a wealth of information and know the sources for parts. You may even find a used mast for it.

Thanks for your quick reply, David. I suspected there would not be much extra value. She's a nice boat for her age, and will be a pleasure to refinish & sail.
