We have a 15 ½ ft. snipe, probably built in the 60’s or early 70’s, built by Lofland Sail-Craft, Inc. out of Wichita, KS.
My boys dumped it on Lake Summit in Indiana and lost the keel. They have scuba dived to try and find it, and it is a lost cause. Therefore, I am looking to replace this keel. We are moving to San Antonio Texas in Sept. I would like to find one in the San Antonio area to save having to move it or ship it.
I have the following approximate measurements taken from the boat, never thought to measure the keel while we had it!
Approximate opening for keel in center of boat: 21 ½ inches
Approximate length taken from carrier rack on trailer: 47 inches
Any leads on finding one would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I am about to buy a Loflund Snipe here in Austin, TX. It's in pretty bad shape but the mast, centerboard, sails, hull, gear and rigging are all good. The tiller, tiller handle and wooden boom are beyond repair. Having seen all that sailors need and want of these boats I'm going to part this one out and keep the trailer. Let me know if you still need the centerboard. Khy121@gmail is my email. Put "Loflund Snipe" in the subject line. I need to replace mine, do you have other measurements?
